FGX-Web gets a fresh new look!

Initially, FGX-Web was created to aid our Forensic Analysts in conducting investigations following a data breach. Since then we’ve developed and grown it into an enterprise solution. FGX-Web now protects hundreds of ecommerce organisations across the globe. Client satisfaction is our focus, and as such, we’ve been working hard to make our solutions as user friendly as possible.

The scheduled update will include some distinct changes to the dashboard. Our developers have been reworking its appearance into a cleaner, clearer, more user-friendly experience. Below is a screenshot of how your new layout will appear when you first log in:

You may notice that the main navigation bar has moved from the top of the screen over to the left-hand side. Clicking the dashboard button will display individual graphs of your data.

The new layout should give clients a clearer and easier overview over their website telemetry. Whilst FGX-Web is a security tool, it also provides some important metrics allowing of you to see the amount of traffic hitting the website, as well as which pages are receiving the most traffic, helping you monitor website growth week on week.

Here’s another example of the types of data you’ll be seeing on your new dashboard:

If you’re signed up to our Managed Detection & Response (Serengeti) Service, your dashboard will look slightly different to the above. The summary report is more streamlined showcasing ‘active events’. You can find an example of this below:

There will be some downtime in order to make the changes, but don’t worry; if you have the Web Application Firewall enabled, your website will still be protected.

How does FGX-Web protect your website exactlyThrough FGX-Web you have access to:

An advanced web application firewall (WAF)

A WAF will filter attacks out of incoming traffic before they hit your website. It will examine not only the source of the traffic, but its intention. It can determine whether the person is placing legitimate requests for web pages, or trying to attempt a hack. If an attempted hack is detected, the attack is blocked. Whereas innocent traffic passes freely.

Malware scanning

Our malware scanner runs at minimum every day (it can be set by the user to run a lot more frequently) and is designed to search a website for all known forms of malware, including but not limited to:

  • Webshells
  • Credit card harvesting code
  • Backdoors
  • Spyware

Cardholder data scans

In addition to a malware scan, you also get access to a scan specifically designed to seek out stored, unprotected payment card data on your website. To reduce your risk of data compromise and to maintain PCI compliance, you cannot keep unprotected payment card data stored on your site. It might not always be the case that it’s been stored intentionally.  Sometimes a customer may put their card information in an incorrect field, or malware is storing the data in a file somewhere for later collection by the criminal. Our scan will detect this data and notify you.

File change monitoring

Using our advanced file monitoring system, we are able to log any and all changes made to your website. If a change is made, we will alert you of the time, date and file location so that you can verify its legitimacy.
